The
planter aspect of the foot is covered by glabrous
skin, with a prominent
stratum corneum.
The subcutaneous
tissue (superficial fascia) is fibrous.
Elastic fibrous
septa divide the subcutaneous tissue into fat filled compartments.
The septa
anchor the skin to the underlying plantar aponeurosis, and limit the
mobility.
. The
planter aponeurosis
- Collagenous deep fascia
- Arises posteriorly from the
Calcaneous, and fans dividing into five bands for
each toe.
